Storm & Snow Chawan
Storm & Snow Chawan is a Hand-built, faceted walls on a small foot ring bowls in Tenmoku black brushed over crackle white; glossy; heavy crazing on interior glaze, handmade at Mita Pottery Studio, Rakkar, Himachal Pradesh. ₹1,500. One of one.
The monsoon breaks fast up here — one moment white sky, the next a wall of black cloud over the ridge. This chawan holds that collision. It was made on a restless afternoon when the studio felt like the inside of a storm.
Hand-built with faceted, irregular walls that catch light at every angle, the exterior carries bold black brushwork over a white glaze — the two bleeding and pooling where they meet. Inside, the white glaze has crazed into a fine crackle network, mapping the thermal story of the firing. The glossy surface breaks over the uneven planes of the clay, making each side its own small landscape.
