Handmade ceramic bowls

Bowls carry the unhurried part of a meal: a handful of walnuts, curd at noon, whatever is left after everyone has served themselves. These range from small chawan you can cup in one hand to wide serving bowls, all thrown on the wheel in Rakkar.

Each is trimmed to a foot ring and finished by hand, so the weight sits where it should when you lift it. Rims are sometimes left to wander rather than trued perfectly — that undulation is the throwing showing through, and it is why one bowl reads differently from the next.
