Handmade ceramic mugs

A mug is the piece you meet most often — first thing, both hands, before the day has decided what it is. These are thrown one at a time in the studio at Rakkar, glazed by hand, and fired to stoneware temperature so they take a dishwasher and a decade without complaint.

No two are the same, and none of them are trying to be. Handles are pulled and set by hand, so each sits slightly differently in the grip. Glazes break where the wall changes direction, and the speckle in the clay comes through the lighter ones. What you see photographed is the piece you get.
