Handmade ceramic plates and dishes

Plates and shallow dishes, for a meal or for the small things that collect by a door — keys, rings, a stub of incense. Thrown flat on the wheel, which is harder than it looks: a plate wants to slump, and keeping the line true is most of the work.

Several carry botanical impressions, pressed into the clay while it was still soft using leaves and flowers gathered on the Rakkar road. Those marks are a record of one particular afternoon, which is why they cannot be repeated.
