What the pass includes

Firing
Sold on its own, whether or not you have used the studio — bring work you made elsewhere and we will fire it. A kiln is charged by the room your work takes up, not by what it weighs: small pieces share a load and go by weight, and anything needing a cabin to itself is charged for the space.

Studio access buys you a room and a wheel, not a teacher. If you are still finding your way, one of these will get you further for the same money.
Before you book
Do I need to be experienced?+
Yes — this is the one thing the studio offers that assumes you already know what you are doing. You should be able to centre, wedge and clean up after yourself without supervision. If you are still learning, a monthly course or the residential immersion will get you further, faster, for the same money.
Can you fire work I made somewhere else?+
Yes. Firing is sold on its own, whether or not you have used the studio. Bring the work bone dry and we will tell you which tier it falls into before it goes in — never after it comes out.
How is firing priced?+
Small work shares a kiln and is billed by weight, at ₹800 per kg. Anything large enough to need a cabin to itself is charged for the space it takes: ₹1,600 for one cabin, ₹3,000 for two, ₹5,000 for a full load. A kiln is sold by the room your work takes up, not by what it weighs.
What are the studio hours?+
11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and passes are booked against those hours. Allow about 20 minutes beyond your booked time for cleaning down — it is not counted against your pass.
Can I buy a pass for someone else, or share one?+
A pass is for one potter. If two of you want to work at once, book two — there are a limited number of wheels and we would rather turn nobody away on the day.
