Ink-Splash Creamer Jug — Third

750one of one

Ink-Splash Creamer Jug — Third is a wheel-thrown with pulled spout and loop handle custom pieces in warm cream gloss base with wide cobalt-and-iron cloud mark glaze, handmade at Mita Pottery Studio, Rakkar, Himachal Pradesh. ₹750. One of one.

This one caught more glaze than the others. The cobalt spread wide and warm — a cloud rather than a line — iron catching along its upper edge. Held in hand it has a certain weight of weather to it. The gloss finish makes the colour move as the light does.

The same wheel-thrown stoneware form — spout, loop handle, tight foot — but the brushwork here was laid on more generously, fanning across the lower body before the stoneware firing around 1220 °C pushed it into a full gloss bloom. The cream ground reads slightly warmer under this glaze layer, and the cobalt shifts between deep navy and soft grey depending on the angle.

“That unplanned swirl, that crooked handle — they are the story of the hour spent making it.”
