Blue Speckle Mug
Blue Speckle Mug is a Wheel-thrown with pulled strap handle mugs in Speckled blue-grey gloss, breaking to sandy cream at rim and base glaze, handmade at Mita Pottery Studio, Rakkar, Himachal Pradesh. ₹350. One of one.
Some mornings the Dhauladhar disappears into cloud and the sky turns the colour of deep water. This mug was made for exactly that kind of morning — the one where you wrap both hands around something warm and just wait. It holds stillness the way the hills hold mist.
Wheel-thrown on a speckled stoneware body, the interior shows a gloss blue-grey glaze that pools lighter at the spiral centre and deepens toward the walls. The exterior carries the same glaze, breaking to a sandy, unglazed cream near the foot ring. The strap handle echoes the glaze's two tones. Fired to approximately 1220°C (cone 6).
