Pinched Flower Mug

250one of one

Pinched Flower Mug is a Hand-pinched irregular form with looped pulled handle and applied floral motif mugs in Warm off-white gloss with yellow-green flower sprig appliqué glaze, handmade at Mita Pottery Studio, Rakkar, Himachal Pradesh. ₹250. One of one.

There is a wildflower that grows along the Rakkar road in July — small, yellow, unassuming, easy to miss if you're walking fast. This cup was made for the people who stop. A reminder that the loveliest things are often the ones that weren't planned.

Hand-pinched from a smooth, pale stoneware body, the walls carry the gentle undulation of the maker's touch — no two surfaces quite alike. A small fan-shaped floral sprig, glazed in a contrasting yellow-green, is applied to the front face. The overall glaze is a warm off-white gloss. A looped pulled handle completes the form. Fired to approximately 1220°C (cone 6).

“That unplanned swirl, that crooked handle — they are the story of the hour spent making it.”
