Ink Splash Yunomi — Rounded

650one of one

Ink Splash Yunomi — Rounded is a Wheel-thrown, rounded belly, handleless mugs in Cream stoneware with bold cobalt and iron splash brushwork glaze, handmade at Mita Pottery Studio, Rakkar, Himachal Pradesh. ₹650. One of one.

Rain on the studio window. Ink dropped into water. There is a kind of beauty in marks that don't try to be precise. This rounded yunomi holds that energy — the moment before the pattern settles.

Wheel-thrown with a rounded belly that widens gently from a narrow foot and pulls inward at the slightly uneven rim. The cream stoneware body is covered in a semi-gloss clear, over which cobalt and iron-brown glaze has been applied in loose, jagged brushstrokes and spatter. The marks break and pool at the rim's edge. The interior shows the same spatter work reaching down the walls, fired to approximately cone 6.

“That unplanned swirl, that crooked handle — they are the story of the hour spent making it.”
