Indigo Splash Belly Mug
Indigo Splash Belly Mug is a wide-bellied mug with pulled handle mugs in warm cream with cobalt splatter glaze, handmade at Mita Pottery Studio, Rakkar, Himachal Pradesh. ₹900. One of one.
There is a particular joy in a mug that asks you to hold it with both hands. Wide enough for a proper chai, round enough to feel like something found rather than bought. The cobalt dots arrived the way monsoon spots arrive on a dusty road — sudden, scattered, honest.
Thrown on the wheel with a full, low belly and a trimmed foot, this mug is made from a warm cream stoneware. The pulled loop handle sits compact against the rounded body. Cobalt oxide was splattered and dabbed across the exterior before a clear glaze dip; fired to around 1220°C, the marks bloom deep blue against the cream ground. Mita's studio stamp is pressed into the base.
