Indigo Brushstroke Mug

800one of one

Indigo Brushstroke Mug is a Wide wheel-thrown mug with pulled handle mugs in Cream base with cobalt blue and dark brown brushstroke band glaze, handmade at Mita Pottery Studio, Rakkar, Himachal Pradesh. ₹800. One of one.

A rainy evening, the mountains hidden. The kind of night that asks for something wide enough to wrap both hands around. This mug was made for those hours — broad and low, steady on the table, the glaze carrying something between sky and storm.

Wheel-thrown with a generously wide, low form and a small pulled loop handle, the cup sits on a clean trimmed foot ring. The cream stoneware body is brushed with sweeping bands of deep cobalt blue and a rich iron-brown that bleeds and mingles at the edges — applied with a wide brush in a single pass. The interior carries the same bold cobalt swirl. Fired to around 1220°C, the glazes break and pool where they meet, leaving each mug unrepeatable.

“That unplanned swirl, that crooked handle — they are the story of the hour spent making it.”
