Poppy Wreath Jug
Poppy Wreath Jug is a Wheel-thrown with pulled handle and pinched spout vases in Cream gloss with hand-painted indigo botanical wreath and orange poppy glaze, handmade at Mita Pottery Studio, Rakkar, Himachal Pradesh. ₹850. One of one.
One poppy on the Rakkar road, orange against dust. The kind of thing you notice and then think about for days. This jug holds that stillness — the wreath encircling a single bloom like something worth protecting.
Thrown on a speckled stoneware body with a rounded belly that tapers toward the base, the jug carries a pulled loop handle and a softly pinched pouring spout. Brushwork in deep indigo traces a loose leafy wreath across the front face, with scattered dot motifs around the shoulders. At the centre, a single orange flower with fine stamens drawn in indigo. The cream gloss ground fires to a soft satin at around cone 6, with iron speckle visible across the undecorated areas.
